ateia Euskadi-OLT held its Board of Directors meeting this Wednesday in Irun, where the progress made in the field of training and the elaboration of a profile of the sector were analyzed.

Diario del Puerto

The meeting was attended by all its members: José Ramón Lecároz (president), Víctor Martín (vice-president), Iñaki Ugartemendia (treasurer), Gonzalo Cerame (secretary) and the members Aitor Artaza and Gonzalo Bernas. They were assisted by Javier Galarza, technical secretary, and Jorge Rodríguez, technical secretary of ATEIA Bizkaia-OLT).

In addition to the approval, for presentation to the General Assembly, of the financial closing and activities for 2022 and the budget and activities for 2023, the Board of Directors presented the Federation's new website (www.ateia-euskadi.org), which integrates the contents of the two member associations (www.ateia-bizkaia.org and www.ateia-gipuzkoa.org). This project has been supported by a grant received through the Associationism Grants of the Transport Planning Department of the Basque Government.

Training

With regard to the activity carried out in relation to training, generated as a response to the shortcomings detected in the "Diagnosis of Professional Needs of Freight Forwarding and Customs Companies in the Basque Country", of January 2022, the collaboration agreements reached with formal training centers in the Basque Country that offer Higher Degrees in Transport and Logistics and International Trade and the offer of two courses of "Specialization for Professionals of Freight Forwarding and Customs Companies" (397 hours), to be held in Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa and another one of "Management and Control of Procurement" (370 hours) to be held in Bizkaia, were reported.

These courses are aimed at unemployed people who want to join the sector, have an internship module in a company and are 100% subsidized by Lanbide.

On the other hand, and as a consequence of the need to obtain data on what the Federation and its member Associations represent, through the activity of its Associated companies, work is being done to contract the management of the survey, which involves a high difficulty to carry it out with its own means.
